Connecting business entities, tourism stakeholders and the local community affects the development of the municipality or region. In the desire for structured integration and joint operation in the Radenska region in Slovenia, the company Radenska, which is involved in the production of soft drinks together with the Municipality of Radenci and the SIV Agency, decided to establish GIZ Lokalno je obetavno. Founded on the initiative of Radenska and with the extraordinary energy and enthusiasm of all the founding members, it set itself important goals, the main ones being the following three: water protection in the broadest sense, establishment of sustainable practices in both regional economic and agricultural activities, and support for the local social environment. The initiative begins its journey with defined projects in the field of helping the local social and natural environment, and for the future it sets ambitious goals of partnering and introducing new, innovative solutions with the aim of establishing sustainable business in the region. The key goal is to protect water in the Raden region. The founders are aware of the importance of natural heritage – water, which needs to be protected. GIZ was founded in 2021 and is already active in the local environment with many campaigns:
- Greener Slovenia
In cooperation with the Forestry Institute of Slovenia, we prepared the forest restoration campaign “Greener Slovenia”. We helped forests, as part of the nation’s natural wealth that we want to preserve for future generations, adapt to climate change by planting 10,000 new trees.
- Granting scholarships to students who have completed the primary school program at the Kajetan Kovič Radenci Primary School or the Kapela Primary School or have permanent residence in the municipality of Radenci. Have attended Kajetan Kovič Radenci Elementary School or Kapela Elementary School (at least from 7th to 9th grade)
- Distribution of school supplies and bags to all first graders of Kajetan Kovič Radenci Elementary School and Kapela Elementary School (Radenska.si, 2021).
